About
Dr. Watson is a board-certified adult psychiatrist with training in both psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. After receiving her M.D. from Tulane University School of Medicine, she completed her medical internship and psychiatry residency at UC Davis Medical Center. She has completed mentorships with top professionals in the fields of Psychoanalysis and Mindfulness Therapy in addition to utilizing techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gestalt Therapy, Jungian Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Relational Therapy and other approaches. She has worked in educational, crisis assessment, inpatient, intensive outpatient and private practice settings. Her emphasis is on helping clients recognize entrenched patterns of behavior and make informed choices in the present moment to create one’s preferred experience of reality. She prescribes medication or vitamin supplements where appropriate, always cognizant of the bigger context.
Dr. Watson helps clients work with the powers of symbolism and belief in defining their identity and purpose. She is a student of Metaphysics and is an Initiate of the Rosicrucian Order. She has studied the human story through mythology and folklore, the dramatic arts, literature, philosophy, theology, social sciences, chemistry, physics and the occult. She has a special interest in working with clients who see things from the perspectives of past lives, spiritual awakening, contact and paranormal phenomena. Clients facing these issues can expect to be received by Dr. Watson with compassion and acceptance.
